I am from three continents: America, Europe, and Asia.
American, I was born in Tokyo of a French father and Japanese mother who met in New York City. Schooled first by the nuns of Sainte-Marie de Neuilly and then by those of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo, I learned French, Latin, German, English, Japanese, and Spanish in rapid succession. Completing my Master’s and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature seemed like the next logical step, and it proved to be providential as it brought me to my alma mater, Harvard University, and to my home, the United States.
After years spent as an educator, editor, and management consultant throughout the country, I have written my first novel. It has nothing to do with my corporate experience as a higher education editor at Houghton Mifflin, McGraw-Hill, and Wiley & Sons, or with my consulting experience, but it has everything to do with my passion for understanding human nature. On this site, you will find a few of my short stories, written through the years, my thoughts peppered across my blog, and the opening chapter of my new novel for which I am currently seeking representation.
